Kari Annette Benson Burns
Kari passed away on Friday July 8th, 2005. Growing up rodeoing in the youth, high school and regional rodeos, Kari was an all-around hand and competed in all the girls events. She qualified for the High School Rodeo National Finals in 1979 in Fargo, N.D., and 1980 in Yakima, Wash.
Loving rodeo, roping and horses, she continued to compete through the years on family raised and trained horses. She was a member of the Northern Women's Rodeo Association, Northwest Team Ropers Association and the Montana Team Ropers Association. She competed at many open jackpots and rodeos. Kari was an accomplished horse trainer and started many colts and horses for area ranchers and rodeo competitors
